About Simon
Carter
Simon Carter has over 14 years of experience in the
image-making field. Graduating from the Royal College of Art,
Simon initially worked designing film and television title
sequences. After gaining experience lighting and directing
film and video motion control sequences Simon's first
collaboration with Peter Crowther (a Royal College of Art
colleague) was co-directing a live action television title
sequence for ITV. Shortly afterwards, Simon began being
commissioned for stills photography from leading design groups
and this led to a series of commissions from advertising
agencies. In 1996 Simon and Peter Crowther commenced producing
images for Tony Stone Images, one of the leading companies
that later became Getty
Images. | | |
The highly successful
partnership led to a great deal of overseas assignments and a
significant level of interest and commissions from advertising
agencies and design groups. In 1998 Simon was appointed
Director of Photography for the 35mm short 'The Cask of
Amontillado' which was very well received by Twentieth Century
Fox as a first piece of work. Simon has been seamlessly
adapting his skills, curiosity and enthusiasm between stills
photography and the moving image since, with firm resolve to
be working in both fields
simultaneously.
